SUMMER CAMP
Two of the essential elements that make the magic of Musical Theatre possible are: truth and story. Truth speaks to the human connection. Story speaks to the journey traveled.

At Stage Dor's Musical Theatre Summer Camp - the best program of its kind in Marin County - students learn how to find the story and their own truth in dance, speech and song. They’ll work with Broadway show tunes, the scenes that lead into them and lots of great choreography. Students learn new skills, have a good time and gain confidence in the process.

The program includes instruction in Contemporary Dance, Modern Jazz Dance, Ballet, Hip Hop, Broadway Musical Theatre Dance, Performance Training, Vocal Training, Acting, Choreography, and Costume Design.
Our expert faculty includes:

Doree Clark - Jazz Dance & Musical Theatre
Doree is Artistic Director of Stage Dor and The Don’t Quit Your Day Job Dancers.  She has a BA in Dance Theater and an MS in Dance Therapy.  Doree is a New York trained jazz performer and National Ballroom Champion with 25 years of experience teaching and mentoring children and teens. Two of her current students have recently been admitted to the prestigious San Francisco School of the Arts.

Tom Mayock - Contemporary Jazz
Tom attended Cornish College of the Arts and has  performed with El Teatro Danza Contemporanea De El Salvador, a company of diverse works in classical, indigenous and contemporary dance. Tom has danced with Ellen Bauer Dance, Printz Dance Project, Cornish Dance Theater, Ketchikan Ballet Theater, Nevada Dance Theater, Marin Dance Theatre, Marin Ballet, and also in corporate industrials, and “Sand Dance,” an independent dance video. Tom’s choreography for children has been broadcast on television.

Eric Fenn - Hip Hop
Eric is an internationally known choreographer and performer who has been teaching for over 12 years. He was the founding artistic director of Culture Shock and now co-directs the San Francisco dance group Loose Change. In addition to hip hop, Eric has had eight years of martial arts, and four years of training as a jazz dancer.

Ingrid Serenne - Ballet
Ingrid has danced, choreographed, and instructed for over 25 years; at one time she was the Assistant Ballet Mistress and Choreologist with the National Ballet of Canada. Ingrid has taught Pilates for the past seven years and is a Master Pilates Teacher, instructing Pilates teachers for the past seven years.

Lisa Stevens - Ballet
Lisa began her training with the San Francisco Ballet. She also studied and performed with Jean Hart’s Royal Academy in San Francisco. As a member of Jean Hart’s California Imperial Ballet in San Francisco she performed in Sleeping Beauty and Giselle. In Florida, she was a dancer and faculty member of Boca Ballet Theatre for 10 years where she performed in La Bayadere, Les Sylphides, Romeo & Juliet and Swan Lake.

Natasha Adorlee Johnson - Modern Contemporary
Natasha is a singer, dancer, writer, musician, DJ, choreographer, and the lead singer and co-producer of TIGERcat. Dance has been her passion since she was three, and she has created and performed original dance works across Europe and America. Natasha is currently dancing with Robert  Moses' Kin in San Francisco.

Caylia Chaiken - Vocal Training
Caylia is a California State credentialed music teacher with a BA in Music and a Masters in Education. She has taught general music and choral singing in both private nad public schools, and has directed many musical theatre programs in the North Bay area. In her studio, she teaches piano, singing, performance tehcnique and songwriting. Her varied teaching techniques help guide her students in discovering their own expressions and cretivity through music.

Lauren Pizzi - Acting & Performance
Lauren is a third year MFA candidate at the Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago. A bay area native, Lauren has taught for California Shakespeare Theatre, and New Conservatory Theatre Center. As an actor, she has worked with Boxcar Theatre and Ragged Wing Ensemble. Lauren is a founding member of the Improvisational Theatre Company, Revolving Madness.
Teen Track schedule is approximately 35 hours per week 9:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Teen Track Tuition:
$1500 for the full 4-week program
$1250 for 3 weeks
$850 for 2 weeks

Student Performance is on Friday,
July 30th at 8:00 pm

Adult Track schedule is approximately 15 hours per week evenings and Saturday.

Adult Track Tuition:
$795 for the full 4-week program
$650 for 3 weeks
$450 for 2 weeks

Minimum enrollment of 2 weeks is required. Deposit of $100.00 (non-refundable) is due at time of enrollment. Balance is due by June 15, 2010.

Ballet and Jazz shoes are required. Some shoes are available on loan from our costume department.

Teen Track for ages 12-18
+ NEW Adult Track!
Summer Camp for Grown-ups!
This summer, we've added an Adult Track which will include 15 hours of classes and training per week, scheduled conveniently for working adults.

Adult classes will also include Contemporary Modern, Jazz, Ballet and Hip Hop dance, as well as Acting, Voice and Performance Training, Choreography and Costume Design.

Enrollment is limited to 15 students in each track. Candidates must apply by May 15, 2010. Previous dance, singing, acting or costume design experience is preferred, but not required.
