10:00 - 11:15 am  >  Latin Jazz  >  Doree Clark
This beginner/intermediate class is a high energy fusion of Latin movements and jazz technique.  The class begins with a warm-up, continues with stretching and strengthening, then across-the-floor movement.  The combinations explore many Latin rhythms, including Salsa, Cha Cha and Samba.  It's fun and a great workout.

Luigi is considered the greatest jazz dance teacher who ever lived and Doree studied with him in New York City for 20 years. The exercise routine he created for his own rehabilitation after a devastating accident became the world's first complete technique for learning jazz dance. This class is great for core strength building and keeping your body in shape.

This is a beginner class for those who love Broadway and Musical Theater.  We cover the styles of the Broadway greats Jerome Robbins, Michael Kidd and Bob Fosse with music from your favorite shows. The class focuses on developing technique and performance.

Couples learn partnering skills in this class which combines some ballroom technique with cabaret and jazz. A partner is required.

Have you stopped doing any activity because your knees hurt?  How about your back?  Have you been told that your pain is due to your age? This class uses the Egoscue method of postural alignment therapy to help you function more fully. You will feel rejuvenated, straight and ready to take on your next activity.

For those who have always wanted to dance but never had training, this class will teach the basic building blocks of jazz, including basic body isolations, ball changes and jazz runs.

Leslie’s personal experience inspired her to create a collection of programs that tie together alignment methodology with athletics. She is passionate about sharing her experience and knowledge to empower others to lead unlimited and pain-free lives. The first half of this class is dedicated to jazz techniques - the second half focuses on jumps,turns, leaps, sautes, and chaines. For all levels, this vigorous class will help students advance in their jazz study, and will strengthen other disciplines such as ballet and modern.

This is a mixed level beginning ballet class. The class will focus on giving you a way to enjoy expressing yourself through the music. A former Assistant Ballet Mistress at the National Ballet of Canada and  master Pilates instructor, Ingrid  brings Pilates principles of alignment and core strength to basic ballet instruction.

This class is for advanced dancers with training in both ballet and jazz. We will be focusing on leaps, turns and floor work, bringing life to those great Broadway dance numbers that we all love so much. Dancers, bring your knee pads and your dazzling attitude.  We work hard and have a great time!
WEDNESDAY

All levels welcome!  Get a great workout as you learn different dances of Brazil, from Carnaval Samba to traditional Afro-Brazilian movement, and lots in between! Classes feature a thorough warm-up, and movement across the floor set to beautiful, fast-paced, hypnotic rhythms. Fun, well broken-down and easy-to-learn choreographies. Emphasis on heel and pelvis-centered technique (the root of all Afro-based dance), dhunham technique, isolations, and other juicy ways to get you shakin' and shimmie-in' across the floor. This class focuses on the basic elements of traditional Bulerias, as danced in Gypsy homes at family reunions.  Attention is paid to learning compas (rhythmic structure), posture, armwork and footwork. These elements are taught as a vocabulary for Flamenco dance that can then be used to improvise. Special emphasis will be placed on the music and feeling of the dance. We will also work with Alegrias, Soleares, Sevillanas, Tangos and other Flamenco rhythms.

The warm-up in this class is based on legendary New York jazz teach Luigi's style and technique.  Luigi's technique has been studied by many of the most well-known dancers and choreographers and brings a unique blend of ballet and jazz with a full set of warm-up exercises that every dancer should learn.  The combinations taught in the class are intricate and advanced.

This class combines poly-rhythmic isolations, quick weight changes, and the fall-
and-release techniques of modern dance, with the function and line of ballet.

2:30 - 3:30 pm  >  Zumba  >  Valerie Russell     
Zumba will help you improve flexibility, coordination, increase stamina, strengthen
your cardiovascular system, tone and tighten your body, and shed excess body fat.
Let the rhythm of Latin music shake your hips and boost your physical endurance
and range of motion all while learning the latest Salsa, Mambo, Cha Cha, Merengue,
Afro-Cuban, and Reggaeton dance steps. Come join the FUN!

This class will focus on body placement, musicality, and basic technique.  Students
can expect to see some improvement in posture and coordination, and may gain a
sense of poise and grace.  Based on individual ability, strength and facility of each
dancer, basic pointe technique may be introduced.
